ParticipantMy apologies first for not being well educated on this subject. Our webmaster quit the biz:). We have a developmental site our web guy built for us so we could update plug-ins there first and make sure they work before updating on our live site. The url for the dev site is http://wwwdev.oaklandcountymoms.com/ and can’t even be accessed by the public. It is password protected since we only use it as our practice site.
I am trying to compare apples to apples with our plug-ins but it’s telling me I am out of installs with our license key on the dev site. Right now the Events Calendar Category Colors are all showing up black after update on the practice site and I’m guessing it’s because the calender pro is not updated. I’m afraid to update the Events Calendar Category Colors on the live site until I know for sure.
How do I go about this so I can update this plug-in on both sites?
Thank you for your help!!!!

MemberHi there Lisa and welcome to the forums!
Ugh, sorry for the trouble here. I imagine it’s tough losing a developer like that.
The license key is good for enabling automatic updates to your site. If you have the Personal License, then you get to install that on one site, but not two.
In this case, it sounds like you have it installed on your Development site. That means it can do automatic updates for The Events Calendar PRO, but the live site cannot.
If you have tested the update on the Development site, then you can manually upload the to the newer version of The Events Calendar PRO. Here is more information on how to manually update plugins, if you would like more guidance.
Or, if you prefer, you can also move your license from the Development site to the live site. Here’s an article that walks through that process in more details.
Does this help clarify things a bit and answer your question? Please let me know. đŸ™‚
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff! Thank you for the reply! I actually have the license key on the live site, and am getting the error message on the dev site. If I am understanding you correctly, can I move the key from site to site to do the updates and testing?

MemberThat’s absolutely correct. You may certainly move the license from site to site for your testing. Good call. đŸ™‚
Does that help cover your questions? Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with regarding licenses.
Cheers!
