ParticipantHi,
My client’s calendar page completely disappeared today. I assumed it was an outdated license.
I upgraded my key from personal to unlimited today. It generated the same key (which I assume is okay). BUT when I go to my WordPress site and use the same key, it tells me “There is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”
Is there still problems with the servers, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

MemberHi Melissa,
So sorry fore the trouble here! I’m happy to look into this with you to see what’s up.
I just checked out the order from today (#1160288) and see it was actually for a renewal of Events Calendar PRO instead of an upgrade. In other words, the purchase was processed as an extension to your existing Personal-level license rather than upgrading you to an Unlimited-level license.
Would you like me to refund that purchase so you can pick up the upgrade instead? Let me know and I’d be happy to do that right away.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I looked around your site yesterday and was unable to find out the functionality differences between unlimited and business. I would like to upgrade to the one what makes best sense for my client, but also need to know the cost per year. Can you let me know that?
Either way, yesterday, I still did purchase/renew the personal license. BUT the license key is not working. Is this a different issue?
Please let me know so I can make some decisions.
Thanks, Melissa

MemberHi Melissa and thanks for following up!
The only functional difference between the licenses is the number of sites the plugin can be activated on:
- Personal: 1 site
- Business: 3 sites
- Agency: 10 sites
- Unlimited: as many sites as you’d like
You are seeing the error message because you have entered the the Personal license on more than one site, which is the maximum number of sites it can be activated on. If you upgrade to another license level then that will enable you to active the license on additional sites. The best package level for your client will be the one that matches the number of activations they need.
Does this help clarify things a bit? Please let me know.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Ah. Now I see what happened. I only need a personal account (1 website). When I was renewing, I must have entered the domain/ip incorrectly. Can we please use the payment from yesterday to renew the previous license for the coming year?
Thanks, Melissa

MemberHi Melissa,
Alright, you should be good to go! Your renewal purchase from the other day has extended your existing Events Calendar PRO license through 9/14/2017.
Was there anything else you needed for this purchase?
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
Thanks so much for your help so far. And I love the “Cheers” sign-off – I thought that was just my thing.
I have entered the key into the WordPress settings for this site and am still getting the message as follows “There is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”
Let me know what I need to do.
Thanks and Cheers!

MemberHey Melissa,
Ha, “cheers” is my favorite sign-off. 🙂
I did a little more digging and it looks like the license for Events Calendar PRO is currently licensed to this URL: 162.144.177.77
Are you perhaps running the plugin on a development site or server other than agavarestaurant.com?
If you are, then you will want to remove the license key from that site and move it over to the other one. I think the system is recognizing that it is already being used in one place while you’re trying to use it in another and removing it from the 162.144.177.77 site will do the trick.
Let’s see if that does indeed work!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
162.144.177.77 is agavarestaurant.com’s dedicated ip address. I can’t remove it because thats where I need it. I think last time I just used the ip address for the url when I bought the license because we hadn’t yet pointed the nameserver over for agavarestaurant.com. It worked all year that way. Should we just use the dedicated ip as the url? Does that make sense? Please advise.
Thanks, Melissa

MemberHi Melissa and happy Friday!
Let’s try this:
- Log into this site and head to My Account > License Keys
- Locate the license key that is assigned to 162.144.177.77
- Click the “Disconnect Now” link next to the IP address (screenshot example)
- Log into WordPress for agavarestaurant.com
- Head to Events > Settings > Licenses
- Enter the license key for Events Calendar PRO
- Save the settings at the bottom of the screen
Does the license key validate at that point? Let me know if that does the trick. 🙂
Thanks!
