I am brand new to word press and plug-ins in general. I am in the process of rebuilding my site with word press. It has been in the staging process since November. On November 17, 2018, I purchased and installed events calendar pro. Yesterday I went back to building the site and Events Calendar Pro wasn’t working so I deactivated and reinstalled Events Calendar Pro thinking that if there was an update between the time of my installation and now that uninstalling and reinstalling would fix that. I also changed themes twice today.
    I received the following message:
“It looks like you’re using The Events Calendar PRO, but the license key is invalid. Please download the latest version from your account.”

I only have one website – not multiple sites which is why I purchased the personal subscription. I am not installing this product on multiple sites.
Out of frustration I once again deactivated Events Calendar Pro, so if I reinstall it again, it will think I am installing on a new site.
Like I said, I am brand new to word press and plugins in general. I do not want to purchase another personal subscription because I already did that.
I really do not know what else to do at this point.
It also appears that I have to list my site’s url on this form, however I am in the staging process so there isn’t a live site. The staging site is: dbf.4a2.myftpupload.com
Any and all advice is appreciated. Like I said, I am new to this.
    Thank you,
    Lorie

I also have the following message on my plug ins page:
“You are using The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”

    Hi Lorie!

Sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your license. You are allowed to use your personal license on both your staging and live sites, but the license system can only detect this automatically if your domains follow a specific naming pattern. Generally, if the domain has a TLD of .test, .dev, .local, .staging, or .tribe, it will be automatically detected. If your staging setup does not follow this pattern, you will need to manually switch your registered domain when you are ready to go live with your site.

To change the domain connected to your license, follow the steps detailed in this knowledgebase article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/

Please give that a shot and let me know if it solves the problem and allows you to update to the latest version.

    Thanks,
    Sky

I followed the directions in the article and in your message.
I have the same staging domain now that I had when I purchased calendar pro. What I mean is the domain attached to my license on calendar pro matches the staging site. I deleted the license key and installed the latest versions of the calendar. I entered the license key and received the same message as last time:
“You are using The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”

    What do you suggest?

    Lorie,

I’m sorry that didn’t work as expected. Let me detail the steps to make sure we’re not missing anything.

    1) On your staging site, in the WordPress admin area, navigate to Events > Settings and click on the “Licenses” tab.
    2) Delete the license key and save changes.
    3) Login to your account at https://theeventscalendar.com/
    4) Click on My Account > License Keys. Next to your staging url, click the “disconnect now” link.
    5) Back on your staging site, re-enter the license key in Events > Settings > Licenses.
    6) Save changes.

Are these the steps you followed? Even if the proper site URL is registered to the license, we may need to “reset” it with those steps. It is showing conflicting information in your system information, with http://c93.98e.myftpupload.com listed as your domain, even though the license is connected to http://dbf.4a2.myftpupload.com/

    Thanks,
    Sky

    Hi,
I followed all of the steps and received the message below:
There is a new version of The Events Calendar PRO available but your license key is invalid. You may need to download and manually install the new version. You can check the status of your licenses and download plugins by logging in to your account on theeventscalendar.com. View what’s new with version 4.4.21.

    Lorie,

Looking at your account information, your license is now connected to excelsiorwriting.com. Which site domain are you trying to register the license on?

    Thanks,
    Sky

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
