ParticipantI have to re-input my license key for every update.
I enter it it validates, but will not stay. I get a notification when there is an update that I need to add my license key.
I checked console and found no js errors on the page.

MemberHey, Lisa. It’s me, Cliff.
Good to see you here!
Thanks for the details. To clarify, I see you’ve purchased PRO but you posted in the Community Events forum. I moved this ticket to the PRO forum, but if it turns out to be CE, I’ll move it back.
On my own site, I entered a license key for PRO and did an update recently and my license key is still in tact at Events > Settings > Licenses.
The system details you shared with me included your PRO license key so it seems it’s saved in your database…
Please confirm which product’s license key is getting wiped out and if you’ve noticed anything else that may help us resolve this issue for you.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Cliff,
I’m getting notifications at the top of the admin that says there’s an update available, but I need to add the license key.
So I go to settings and it’s not there then. This has happened the past 2 times. It stays when you input, but something about the update notification process, it’s not there.

ParticipantHey Cliff,
I’m not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I saw some js from short pixel loading on that page – no errors, just listed in console. I sent them a message to see if they could prevent it from loading in the admin other than the media library.
I had posted under the original poster because it seems like he’s having the same issue.

MemberThanks for the info. Yeah, sounds like a plugin conflict. Sorry to hear about that. We can’t provide support for every possible plugin conflict. It sounds like you’re going down the right path, pursuing the other plugin’s resolution. Please let us know if it turns out to be something else.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Cliff,
The only thing that makes me think it’s something else is the license key stays until an update notice is triggered. So the license key will stay visible in the field at all times until it needs it for an update. Then the field is empty.
Short pixel runs in the admin so images can be processed from any page not just the media libary, so while you’re uploading to a page or post for example. So while it’s on the page, it’s not affecting the license key staying between updates.
So this may not be a conflict with it, but something to do with the update trigger.

MemberThanks for the additional info. I believe you mentioned this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortpixel-image-optimiser/
We don’t have that as a known conflicting plugin, but I have seen some other users recently reporting the license key isn’t staying in the plugin settings.
Sorry I don’t have a resolution for you at this time. I’ll suggest trying to disable that plugin (and others if it turns out not to be the conflicting one) and seeing if your license key stays on the settings page with that plugin (and/or other plugins) disabled.
If you find out anything more, please advise so we can determine any cause of this frustrating issue.
In the meantime, know that I’ve reported your issue and the other users reporting it. Additionally, you can always download the latest versions of our add-ons at My Account > Downloads.
Thanks for being a valued customer! 🙂

MemberThanks again for the info.
We’ve had quite a few threads on this topic lately. Apparently, a common issue is that you ENTER the key, it gets the green-colored “success” message, and then you DON’T click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of that screen.
Could you please try these steps:
- Visit License Tab.
- Enter License Key.
- You get a Green License Valid Message.
- After you get the message you are then clicking “Save Changes”.
- Then you get a “License key(s) updated.” message near the top of the page.
And then let me know if that turned out to be the solution for you as well.
Sorry again for the trouble of dealing with license keys. I know it’s never fun.
Thanks.
