ParticipantI have multiple add-ons including Community Events Forum, on two different web sites, and the licensing key is not being retained in the admin section. I can enter the key — but later when I come back, the key is gone. This problem has occurred with the EDD Tickets addon as well.
This becomes a problem when the plugins are updated, because the plugin update is not pushed through, I get error messages, and I have to come back to this web site to retrieve my license keys and reënter them. Even doing that I sometimes need to enter and save more than once to get it to “stick.”
Obviously I know how to fix this when it happens, but it is an annoyance and make the task of upgrading plugins more complicated. Any fix for this?

I’m sorry it hasn’t worked smoothly for you.
Sometimes users are caught out by the fact that if they copy and paste a license key into the field, it quickly updates the screen in “realtime” with a message noting if the key is valid or not — occasionally, users may then think it is set in place but in fact they still need to save the settings page to get them to stick.
Is it at all possible this might be catching you out (it may not be, but it seemed worth checking initially).

ParticipantNo, I’m pretty sure I clicked save because this happened on two sites and I remember clicking save and then having the information seem to disappear.
But the license information is there now and I don’t know how to replicate the error, so I guess I’ll just keep an ey on things to see if it happens again.

MemberOK – it definitely sounds unusual and I can’t think of a reason for saved license keys to suddenly just drop – but lets’ leave this open for the time being and if you do hit it again, please just let us know 🙂
