GuestHi.
I’m helping out a friend with her business website. Her previous developer setup the website for her. License has expired and developer could not be contacted. My friend does not have any information and therefore will she be required to purchase or renew a new license? If she was to purchase or renew license, how would it work? She is concerned as to whether data in her current events calendar would be wiped out after she has a new license?
Thank you for your time. Looking forward to your reply.
Regards, TK.

MemberHi, TK.
Removing or adding a license key won’t edit any of the site’s data.
Please email
with the license key you currently have installed on your site and the domain name and a link to this thread.Thank you.

GuestHi Cliff.
Thank you for your reply.
The following message appeared in the notice on WordPress “There is an update available for The Events Calendar: WooCommerce Tickets but your license has expired. Visit the Events Calendar website to renew your license”.
According to my friend, her developer has purchased the plugin outright. Is renewing still required?
Thank you for your time. Looking forward to your reply.

MemberPurchasing from us has always been for a 1 year time period.
If they purchased from us, they could login to https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/ and click the Renew button there if they want to keep the same account.
There are, unfortunately, websites out there that re-sell our plugins and are not authorized to do so by us. These are sometimes called discount clubs.
Anyway, that plugin (WooCommerce Tickets) was sunset over a year ago and replaced with Event Tickets Plus (ET+). We gave all of our WooTickets plugin customers a free upgrade to ET+.
If you bought WooTickets from somewhere besides our website, I’d suggest buying ET+ from us now and then you’ll have a year of support and updates.
Here’s information about the upgrade process from WooTickets to ET+: Moving to Event Tickets Plus.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Thanks!

GuestHi Cliff.
I have managed to log into “my account” but there isn’t any button for renew/ upgrade/ purchase of plugin, so am not able to make any purchase. By the way, my friend’s website is using WooCommerce, Would The Events Calendar plugin be compatible? My friend is worried about this issue.
Thank you for your time. Looking forward to your reply.
Regards, TK.

MemberIf you’ve logged in to https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/ but show nothing at https://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys/ then you’ve never had a license with us.
Yes, ET+ (paid add-on for ET) works with WooCommerce.
Let me know if there’s anything more I can do for you.

MemberIt sounds like you should install the free The Events Calendar, the free Event Tickets, and purchase Event Tickets Plus.
Please refer to my prior comment on December 23 for further details and let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
