Layout Issue

I’m new to WordPress and have overall found the Events Calendar plugin to be very valuable. That being said, I’m having an issue with our layout and cannot seem to figure out how to fix it.

The issue:
After first installing the plugin, each event had the featured image on the list and single event pages with a colored (slightly transparent) bar across the bottom of the image with the event title, date, and pricing information overlaid on top. Somehow I changed something and I’ve lost the bar with the text on top of the image and now all of the text information is above the image.

How can I fix this?

Do you have a link this is happening?

This is how our list view looks by default:

And you can click on an event there to single event.

I can help get back to that, but might not be able to help get a custom look back.
