ParticipantWe’re still working on the site, so it’s on a maintenance screen. No matter whether it’s a recurring event or single occurrence event, the latest event added shows as the title for ALL of the events on the calendar view. When you hover over the event, the correct information will show as well as when you click on the event. When you go to the list view, all events have the correct information. I’ve uninstalled all of the plugins with the exception of WooCommerce and switched to a default WP theme but the problem persists.

MemberI’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulties. That’s an interesting problem – can you provide a screenshot of this to give me a better sense of what’s happening (and let me know which default theme you tried)?

MemberThanks – that helps!
It looks to me like a theme-specific problem and that, perhaps, it is rendering the title before the start of the loop. I don’t want to jump to conclusions though as you did mention this also happened with a default theme. Can you confirm this was the case and let me know which default theme you switched to?
As it looks like the site is still in development and behind a maintenance mode page, can you demonstrate this by temporarily changing themes so I can take a look and see how it shapes up under those conditions (ie, no other plugins – except ours and WooCommerce, if you like, plus a default, unmodified theme)?
Thanks!

ParticipantAbsolutely! I just deactivated all the plugins except WooCommerce and yours. I’ve also switched to the default Twenty Twelve theme…and unfortunately, the problem still exists. That would have been too simple. 😉

MemberThanks for running through that!
I actually thought you were referring to a quite different issue initially but I can certainly see the problem now. That’s very puzzling. Before we go any further, can you now deactivate everything except The Events Calendar itself (and so also deactivate WooCommerce): does this problem persist even then?

ParticipantWell, there you go. It seems to be a conflict with WooCommerce. When I deactivate it, it resolves the issue and the correct event titles appear. So where do we go from here?

MemberThat’s definitely strange, as we test with WooCommerce quite a lot (in regards to our WooCommerce Tickets plugin) … can yo confirm which version of WooCommerce you are running – and if this problem is specific to WooCommerce itself, or if some other WooCommerce-related addons need to be present and activated to see it?

ParticipantIt was only with WooCommerce activated, although we do have dynamic pricing installed. But I recreated the problem with that extension deactivated. We’re using WC 2.1.11.

MemberI’m sorry but I just can’t replicate even with the very same version of WooCommerce …
I’m wondering, though, to cleanly troubleshoot we’d ideally deactivate all other plugins (except of course those that must remain for testing) and use a default, unmodified theme.
You’re enforcing a maintenance mode right now, though – is that not through a plugin? Have you tried this without that plugin if so?

MemberHi! We always do remove credentials (though you’re correct, only team members and you can see your private replies) – but that is an extra manual step we take and as we don’t typically provide coverage on weekends I’m afraid that had to wait until today 🙂
Can you confirm, though, that we have your permission to run through those troubleshooting steps – ie, we can deactivate plugins and switch the theme? My intention is not to scaremonger by any means, but we need clear confirmation as we cannot accept responsibility for any issues resulting from the troubleshooting process (and strongly advise making a complete backup).
Thanks!

ParticipantYes, you have permission to troubleshoot. We have a backup of the site. Thank you.

MemberOK – before we go any further (I’m afraid I cannot execute these particular steps on your behalf) can I ask you to disable the following as part of the troubleshooting process – or confirm you already ran through this at an earlier stage:
- You have a “Must Use” plugin which may relate to Go Daddy – can this temporarily be removed (if you simply create a new folder called disabled within the mu-plugins directory and move and files in there, that should achieve this – otherwise please seek help from the host/whomever put this plugin in place)
- You also have caching in place: can you disable this and follow the caching plugin author’s instructions for fully removing it? The effects of caching plugins can actually persist after they have been deactivated via the plugin admin screen: fully removing any cached files, any rules that have been added to the site’s .htaccess file and additionally removing the caching drop-in are all required
Thanks!
