ParticipantJust going over things after upgrading to pro, noticed when trying to view calendar in month view i got the error Fatal error:
Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/willmedia0896/public_html/wiilkids.com/wp-includes/meta.php on line 837
list view & day view are fine, any idea what happened? and yes month view was fine before the upgrade. ThanksNovember 7, 2015 at 9:26 pm #1022969Cliff
MemberHi Richard. Thanks for your purchase, but sorry to hear about this issue arising.
Would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the “Set as private reply” checkbox to protect your private information from the public.
You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the “Help” tab, and scrolling down to the “System Information” box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help)
That will give me a lot of extra information to help diagnose the problem.

MemberThanks for your system information.
I found your calendar at http://wiilkids.com/?post_type=tribe_events — and saw the month view at http://wiilkids.com/?post_type=tribe_events&eventDisplay=month wasn’t working
Here are a couple things you might want to try:
1)
Thanks for reaching out to us about this.
There could be quite a few things that would lead to a plugin or theme conflict, and I’m curious about a few things. Would you mind enabling WP_DEBUG and sharing any PHP errors you see while navigating your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and any other of your site’s pages relevant to this ticket?
Once you share your WP_DEBUG findings, we may be able to get an idea of any plugin or theme conflicts.
Please enable WP_DEBUG on your site. You’ll need to edit to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);to this:define('WP_DEBUG', true);
(or add this line of code if you can’t find mention of ‘WP_DEBUG’ in your wp-config.php file)If any errors do appear while navigating your site’s pages, please copy and paste them in their entirety into a new ticket reply — along with the URL of where you saw the error(s) — and make sure you set it as a Private reply.
Let us know what you find. 🙂
2)
Could you try temporarily activating the default Twenty Fifteen theme, and seeing if the issue persists.
If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?
If the issue persists in the default Twenty Fifteen theme, then we have a different set of debugging steps. Please keep the Twenty Fifteen theme enabled, and also disable any plugins other than the ones from Modern Tribe to see if that fixes it. If it does, please try re-enabling the plugins one at a time until the issue resurfaces. When it does resurface, can you let me know which plugin caused that to happen?
3)
You might require a more powerful server. Or, often times web hosts will allow you to increase the memory limit on your current server.
Here are some helpful links regarding this:
- Here’s is how to upgrade WordPress’ memory limit, right from the WP Codex.
- Here is the PHP reference for modifying your php.ini memory limit. Sometimes this is necessary as well. Not all hosting plans allow you to edit the php.ini file, so you would need to consult with your provider on how to do it and if you need to switch plans. You might even ask them what the maximum allowed memory is for the current plan, and make sure you are already there.
Keep in mind that WordPress is a powerful application, and our Calendar only adds to that power. Often times the cheapest hosts out there simply will not accommodate these, especially once you start having a lot of posts or events.

Hopefully something from above gets you closer to figuring things out…
Please let me know what you find works or doesn’t.

P.S. I grew up in Racine, WI so it was cool to see your site serving the Southeast Wisconsin area! 🙂

ParticipantSorry been crazy busy, finally have time today to address this, I have tried the twenty fifteen theme with & without any plugins activated, same issue,, I will follow up on other steps you suggested next.. It still puzzles me since i had over 1000 more events listed & the month view was working fine with the free version & minutes after the upgrade i checked month view and this all started, correct me if i am wrong but my thought is the upgrade just added a few additional features to the core free version as that is why i still need to keep the free version activated? if that is the case, can i de-activate the upgrade and see if all is well as it was before the upgrade? In the meanwhile i will pick away at your suggestions Thanks!

MemberThanks for the update.
PRO is an add-on so you need to keep the free/core plugin active too. It adds new features, views (e.g. photo, map), and also overrides some things in the core plugin where appropriate.
So, yes, please try deactivating PRO and seeing if you notice any changes. If so, please document them here for me to review.
Thanks.
