ParticipantWe are having issues with with the counts on Events being off and names showing up as duplicates on registers when there is only one space booked.
Apparently this has been going on for some time, but our staff found it difficult to obtain clear examples to document because of manual bookings, cancellations etc.
In this PDF,it documents an event, which was published on 4 July. There are 3 bookings all made by customers directly on the website.
Briefly, the event shows only 4 spaces remaining but there should be 5. 8 original spaces, 3 bookings, 5 remaining spaces. 2 of the people who have booked show up on the register twice.
We have been having multiple issues and PHP errors with the website. Another member of your Tech Support team are assisting us with those.
A copy of our PHP Error Log can be downloaded HERE.
We’d be grateful for your assistance in troubleshooting this issue.
Many thanks,
Carole

ParticipantHi Carole,
I’ve taken a look at your site and at the log, and I have a few more questions. π
- Can you point me to the thread where my team member is helping Β you with the PHP errors?
- Has this ever happened before (or since)?
Please let me know, and then we can take care of it! π
Thanks,
Shelby π

ParticipantHi Shelby,
1. Here’s the link to the other thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/automated-emails-not-being-generated-for-events-since-woo-commerce-update-3-1/
“Has this ever happened before or since?”
In the PDF our office manager compiled, she complains of this happening for approx the past 7 months.
As mentioned in the first message of this thread, it has been going on for some time, but our staff found it difficult to obtain clear examples to document and report to you, because of manual bookings, cancellations etc.
Many thanks,
Carole

ParticipantHi Carole,
I’m doing some testing with the issue as described previously, Β and attempting to replicate it in my own environment. However, I’m a little confused about the relationship between the thread you linked to and this issue, as the subjects/titles suggest two different issues. If you can explain, perhaps it will help me figure out what’s going on a bit faster!
Thanks!

ParticipantHi again Carole,
I thought that you were indicating that the two threads were related to the same issue so that I can give you some guidance. It must have been a misunderstanding on my part. Still attempting to replicate this specific issue.
Thanks for sticking with me!
Cheers,
Shelby π

ParticipantHi Shelby,
I wanted to let you know something I discovered today while putting through a test order on our staging site. Our office staff have been cloning events for some time without changing the permalinks and publishing date. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago and advised our staff to ensure they were corrected.
But today I noticed this:
Tuesday Morning Jump Skills on 15 August 2017
live site URL: https://www.devondogs.co.uk/event/tuesday-morning-jump-skills-grids-2-2-2-2/
Should be: https://www.devondogs.co.uk/event/tuesday-morning-jump-skills-grids-15-Aug-2017
I wish I’d thought of this before, but it occurred to me that the permalinks may have some bearing on the Events Register count being off. I’m not positive, but wanted to let you know, especially as you are unable to replicate the issue. Could this be the cause of the counts being off in our Events Register?
I am going to go through our Events Calendar personally and make sure they are all corrected. I hope this “fixes” the issue. But only time will tell. However, if the counts issue persists, I will report it again.
I apologise for wasting your time in reporting an issue that may have been caused by something we were doing incorrectly. π
Many thanks,
Carole

ParticipantHey Carole,
So I finally made some headway on this. I think it’s related to a bug that we already have on our radar. I will be adding your thread here to the bug report so that this thread won’t close, and you’ll be notified when this is fixed. I will also bump the priority in our system accordingly, so that hopefully this will be addressed more quickly! π
Thanks for your patience, & please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Shelby π

ParticipantThanks for letting us know Shelby. Do you have a link to any threads about that bug?

ParticipantHi Shelby,
Just wanted to let you know our office manager got back to me this afternoon and advised that the recent example of the Events Register Count being off actually did have proper permalinks.
Many thanks,
Carole

ParticipantHi again Carole,
Unfortunately, we don’t have any temporary solutions as revealed in the other threads at this time. You’ll be updated if we have any temporary solutions. It’s good to know that the permalinks were in order, that rules out other potential complications!
Best,
Shelby
