ParticipantI have attempted to use the Community Event URLs provided in the Community Settings page, however whenever I attempt to change the permalink for that page it removes all the back-slashes after hitting enter. I am not experienced and have no coding skills, just assumed this would be a little simpler of a process to direct my page to the right place after purchasing this.

ModeratorHi and welcome 🙂
Thank you for choosing us for your events calendar needs! If you’ve created a page with the same slug as what you’ve entered under Events > Settings > Community > Community rewrite slug setting (see screenshot below) – you’ll need to delete the page.

Please let me know if I’ve understood your situation clearly. If not, respond back with step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce your issue. Screenshots are also very helpful in these situations.
Thanks again and I look forward to your response. Cheers!

ParticipantOk, Here are screenshots for what I’m doing. I deleted the page and started over. Then attempted to enter the information provided in Community settings for the Add page, which is the first shot that contains the backslashes. The 2nd shot shows the result when I hit enter, which no longer contains the backslashes and does not direct to the Add page.

ModeratorHello,
Thank you for the helpful response. You do not need to create pages for the submit event page. It is automatically generated by the plugin, so please delete the page you’ve created and try visiting your-site.com/events/community/add and you should see the page to add events on the front end.
Same scenario goes for your main /events/ page. If you have created a page with the same slug you have entered into the Events > Settings > General > ‘Events URL slug‘ setting, you need to delete the page. Your events will display at your-site.com/events (or whatever you decide on for the ‘Events URL slug‘).
Please let me know if this helps. Cheers!

ParticipantAh, ok that makes perfect sense. Thank you!
Can you tell me if there’s a simple way to have a URL that only shows events from a certain category? I’d like to have links on my front page that are for specific categories.
Thanks

ModeratorDouglas,
Glad to hear you’re on the right track! We are getting close to releasing a version which includes the ability to display category-specific calendars/list of events using the [tribe_events] shortcode. Stay tuned to your WordPress admin dashboard and our Release Notes for that information.
I’ll close this thread out but please feel free to create another one if you come across any more questions or concerns. Have a great weekend and thanks for choosing PRO. Cheers!
