I’m sorry that you’re running into this issue, but I’ll be happy to help you figure out what’s going on.
This does sound odd – I am not able to recreate the issue on my end, and I don’t see any other similar reports from other users, which makes me think that there is something on your site conflicting with our plugins. Can you first check for Javascript errors by right clicking on the page, clicking “Inspect”, opening up the console, and trying to recreate the issue? If you see any errors, please copy/paste them here.
Can you switching to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen with all other plugins besides The Events Calendar deactivated and WP_DEBUG enabled and try running an import again?
