Hi Mari,
Thanks for stopping by (and thanks for paying us a compliment, as well)! 🙂 While we don’t offer any built-in solutions for allowing users to subscribe to new event notifications, you can add in this functionality by way of the third-party plugin Events Calendar Newsletter. For more information on this plugin and how to implement this feature on your site, you can check out this post over on our UserVoice forum:
https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4511607-allow-users-to-subscribe-to-calendar-via-email
We also offer RSS feeds for calendar events, including category-specific feeds, so your users can easily subscribe to a category feed from their feed reader of choice. Or your readers can simply add your RSS feed URL(s) to an RSS-to-email application (such as Blogtrottr) and receive email notifications when new posts are added to that category!
To grab the RSS feed for any event category, simply add /feed to the end of your category URL. For example, if you wanted to retrieve an RSS feed for the “WP Meetups” category on our WP Shindig demo site, you’d add /feed to wpshindig.com/events/category/wp-meetups to get wpshindig.com/events/category/wp-meetups/feed.
I hope that helps! Thanks again, and let me know if you should have any other questions!
