ParticipantWith default configuration, Events Calendar Pro does not provide a non-date-specific URL for the single-event view of a multi-day event.
I understand why this is, but it ignores what I imagine must be a fairly common use care:
Say I have an event that recurs daily for a week. I want to email my subscribers a direct link to my event detail page, so I send out the link: domain.com/event/name/2019-01-01
But what if one of my subscribers doesn’t click the link until the second day of the event?
They get an ALERT at the top of the page saying “This event has passed.”
Even if there is recurring event information further down on the page, the alert is the first thing they see, and they think either the event is canceled, or there is some kind of error on the website.
This is not a customer-friendly interaction.
At a minimum, when an “expired” URL of an event is clicked, is there a way to make it automatically redirect to the next non-expired event date in the series?
I could instead link to domain.com/event/name/all, which gives a list view with the same repeating metadata for all instances of the event, but there really should be a way to provide a direct permalink that does not expire to the “detail” page of a multi-instance event.

KeymasterHi there!
Thanks for reaching out. I will try to help you with this.
Multiday events do not display the “event has passed” notification or have the date on the URL, but recurring event instances do.
Each instance of a recurring event is considered a separate event, so not displaying a message that the event has passed would be inconsistent with the rest of the user experience.
My recommendation would be to use the domain.com/event/name/all approach as you mentioned, so people could see when the next event is.
While it may be possible to redirect past events to the next upcoming event, this is not something the plugin can do by default. If you’d like to suggest this as a feature, you can visit our User Voice Forum to share your idea.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any further questions about this.
Thanks,
