Is it possible?

I’d like to make a category or tag labeled “featured” and have these events show on my homepage in the content area. If its not currently possible could I ask that you consider this for a future update?

Well, I think it is currently possible, but might take a bit of tweaking to get it just right for you. If I understand you right, you want to replace your home page with a list of the “featured” events? The first trick is getting the calendar to display as your home page. There’s another thread with some relevant information on that topic over at https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/making-the-event-list-my-front-page/.

The second part is simply displaying a specific category, which is also possible. You’ll want to take a look at our Themer’s Guide for an overview (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/).

Hi Julie,

Thanks for the response. Neither of these will work for me, as I do not want the page forwarded to the “events” page and the include would have to be a list view. I tried an include with “/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/list.php” but when viewing through the front end it only displayed a “-1” are there any short-codes available?

I’m sorry but our plugin doesn’t utilize shortcodes. If I understand it correctly, what you are looking to do would require customizing your theme with hooks into our plugin functions. The only help I can provide for you there is in the documents I linked to previously.
