We have a private site.
Just 2 admins, but about 200 users.
We surpress wordpress user dashboard because its – simply not necessary for our purpose. We have a couple users we’d like to maintain/edit events added by anyone.
Any recommendations to allow a user to edit all events?
Do I have to give them specific wordpress permissions (hopefully not admin) ?Looking for a simple recommendation.
Thanks

Thanks for getting in touch! You should be able to achieve this by doing the following:- Install a third-party plugin to manage user roles/capabilities. (My personal favorite is the Members plugin).
- After installing and activating the Members plugin, create a new role (Users->Roles)
- Give your new role the following capabilities: http://grab.by/w3le
- Assigned the desired users to your newly created role
That should be it! Users in this new role will have FULL access to edit, create, and delete events in your calendar, so be careful who you give this access to.
Give that a shot and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks! 🙂

Would they be able to edit from the front-end with this setup?
I ask because we currently suppress the user dashboard.April 15, 2014 at 1:42 pm #133437CaseyParticipantJeff,
Users can already edit their own previously submitted events by visiting the ‘My Events’ page on the front-end of the site (typically located at http://www.yoursite.com/events/community/list), but they will not be able to edit other users events. They’ll have to use the Dashboard, along with the special permissions that you’ll set up for them.Hope that makes sense! Just let me know if that gets you started in the right direction. Thanks! 🙂

By the way, if you have a minute or two, we would love it if you’d write a few words for us here: http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/the-events-calendar?filter=5
Thanks in advance. 🙂
