Is it Possible to Create a Widget With ECP Listings to display on the homepage?

Hi,
I just purchased the event calendar. My site uses widget to display posts according to my needs. Anyways, this widget pulls data from the posts not from the pages. Because ECP creates posts as pages rather than as posts it’s creating a problem with my widgets.

Ideally, I would like to replicate the “latest in fashion” portion of the site (http://bit.ly/V9CSgP) to pull from a category in the ECP calendar. The problem I just don’t know where to begin. I am fairly comfortable with CSS so I can do do changes.

I know the ECP comes with it own widget to display posts but its not near as dynamics as what I currently have.

Hi Lorna,

I can’t really advise you about using this other widget but what I can say is that it looks like the Events List Advanced Widget that ships with Events Calendar PRO should meet your needs here, with a little customization perhaps.

You could for instance set it to pull events from a specific category and you can also control the number of events that it lists.

If you want to add featured images (thumbnails) then that’s possible, too! I don’t think we have a tutorial for doing this with the Events List Advanced Widget but there is one for the Next Event Widget and the basic idea is similar.
