Irregular Recurring Events

Hi Everyone – I’m putting together a site that is going to be listing many events. Many of these events are recurring, but not on a regular schedule.

What’s the recommended way to administer these events? We’re doing a “related events” kind of thing, so I’d like to make sure they appear in these “related” widgets, and I know that can be done with categories, but making sure that the events are related (as in a series) is a concern.

Also – we’re looking at making the site admin job as simple as possible, but not simpler. So recommended ways of dealing with irregularly recurring events would be much appreciated.

For example :

In April, there is this 1 event with several times :
Tue April 9, 8pm
Wed April 10, 7:30pm
Fri April 12, 8pm
Sun April 14, 2pm
Thu April 18, 8pm
Sat April 20, 2pm/8pm

Hi Jaki,

I’m sorry that your post somehow got missed in our regular forum checks. Were you able to get this working?

At this time our Recurring Events feature does not allow for irregular recurrence patterns like your example, although it is commonly requested on our UserVoice forum and it may be added in a future version. At this time, there is no built in way to relate events.

In our upcoming version 3.0 there is a built in “Related Events” feature that shows up on individual event pages under the other event data. That may be helpful for you.
