I’m using Events Calendar Pro and am wondering if there’s a way to add an event directly to an iPhone’s calendar. When an event is viewed the options are “+Google Calendar” and “+iCal Export”. If “iCal Export” is selected on an iPhone it gives the message “Safari cannot download this file.” Is there an add-on or a way to click a link in an event and have it export directly to Calendar in iOS? Thanks!

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues you are having.

I tested on my iPhone with the latest iOS in Safari and was able to use the iCal Export Button and it worked for me.

It asked if I wanted access to my contacts and I accepted if you previously denied that request it might not work for you.

It looks like we already have in place the coding for Safari to accept this.

Please note it will not work in other mobile browsers like Chrome. It will only work in Safari.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

    Thanks

    Hi,

This is the file that creates the ical:

    the-events-calendar\src\Tribe\iCal.php

However, I see the link in your theme header too so I think it could be in your theme or a core WordPress file.

I do not use security plugins for the most part and try to harden my sites myself, but you might want to check out Sucuri Security

Sucuri Security – Auditing, Malware Scanner and Security Hardening

They look to keep on top of issues and maybe to scan your site with the plugin to find the issue.
