ParticipantHi there
Heres my issue. We have an inventory of 5 tickets.
We emake a payment for 1 ticket. The order is pending. We then complete the order. The order is completed and we then check attendees for that event. The Tickets Sold say 1 of 6. Any ideas?
If we repeat this process, 2 of 7, 3 of 8.But we have not changed the inventory levels.

MemberThat is strange. Is it possible something else is conflicting here? Though I appreciate you noted having tried deactivating all other plugins/switching to a default theme, can you confirm that you also deactivated any WooCommerce specific addons (with the obvious exception of our own)?
What payment gateway are you using here?

ParticipantHi there, Ill see what I can do with that. problem is the site is now live.
Only happens I can see because we do not get an IPN back from PayPal and are forced to send through the payment manually. What was the bug fix here: Added code to improve inventory/out-of-stock handling (thanks to studioseptember at the forums for reporting this!)?
Should we upgrade?

I can definitely appreciate that makes it difficult. If it’s possible to investigate this on a test site though that could provide some useful insights (it’s not something I can replicate locally, for instance).

That’s interesting. Can you trigger a resend of IPN data and/or will your PayPal addon allow you to utilize PDT as a backup mechanism?

It’s generally best to stay updated. That bug fix related to something not normally exposed to most users, in terms of setting a ‘flag’ used to indicate if items had no remaining stock: I don’t believe it would have any bearing on this, but it’s not impossible, I guess.

ParticipantThanks for that. Ill setup a test site over the weekend and see what I can find out first.
IPN never seems to work well with PayPal, so Im worried about that as well.
What is: PDT as a backup mechanism?

MemberIt doesn’t exist as a backup (just to be clear on that) but when a custom pays via PayPal then there needs to be a way to let the website know if the sale went through successfully or not. PayPal has two ways of facilitating this (with regard to the PayPal Payments Standard service). One is IPN – Instant Payment Notifications – the other is PDT – Payment Data Transfer.
I don’t know if your payment addon supports both or not, but if it does then intelligently allowing for both methods is in a sense more failsafe. That would be something to talk through with Woo’s support team or whomever put the PayPal module together, though.

MemberHi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread (and so it will no longer be monitored by staff). If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
