    On mobile devices, in the month view of the calendar, *sometimes* the names of the days of the week are all bunched up and you cannot access the events displayed on the calendar. When you rotate the device to landscape the days of the week look as expected but you still cannot access the events.

    We had 10 people go to the site on their phones at the same time. None had ever been to the site before. 5 with iPhones, 5 with androids.

    2 of the androids exhibited the problem.
    3 of the iPhone’s exhibited the problem.

    The rest of the phones all worked fine.

    Just to be clear, this appears to be an intermittent problem.

    Hi Elizabeth,

    Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear about this glitch.

    From what I see in the screenshot seems the site wasn’t fully loading for that device. Take a look at the ‘View as’ combobox, when the scripts finish loading the select element gets changed to an icon + text, and day names are shortened as well. Could that be the problem? Did it succeeded/failed consistently for all cases? After several attempts I wasn’t able to reproduce this on my mobile device.

    Hi Nico,

    Thank you for your insight. This is still an ongoing issue for us. I agree that it seems the scripts did not finish loading, but I am not sure why. I’ll let you know if we find out any more information about this problem.

    Thanks for getting back. Please do keep us aprised and we’ll do what we can to help. There is certainly some strange juju going on with your website. Even in the desktop browser, Chrome, while viewing your site’s mobile view the links are not quite working right. Clicking on a day causes the days events to briefly appear, only to then disappear. You can see that this does not happen on other sites, like our demo one.

    The easiest way to begin testing something like this would be a conflict test. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, this is still an ongoing issue for us. We have been actively trying to resolve it and appreciate your insight to help us find the solution. We have more information we would like to share with you.

    We upgraded to version 4.0.7 of the Events Calendar Pro and that seemed to solve the problem. We did not notice any issues for 1 full week.

    On Friday, March 18th, we upgraded to version 4.1.0.1 and immediately the mobile calendar broke. In fact, now it is no longer an intermittent problem. The days of the week do not switch to the shortened display and the event links on the calendar do not work.

    Based on the Changelog, it appears there were some changes made to the mobile calendar views. Can you provide some insight as to what changed in these 2 releases? I am hopeful it may shed some light onto this issue.

    In addition, can you please provide your recommendation on how to revert back to version 4.0.7, since that version appeared to be working fine.

    Hi Elizabeth,

    Thanks for following up! Good to hear that 4.0.7 fixed the issue, but a bummer to know 4.1 reverted the fix.

    We are aware of the days of the week abbreviations bug, it’s logged and hopefully we will see that fixed soon. For now the best seems to downgrade the plugins to version 4.0.7. We have a guide in place describing how to do so: Downgrading the plugin to a past version.

    Be sure to check the logs to fin out when these issue with mobile month view are fixed. And as recommendation always test updates in a local or staging site before upgrading in the live site!

    Thank you for the info. I reverted back to version 4.0.7 and the month view of calendar is now working as expected. I’ll keep a lookout for the next version to see if it gets fixed. Thanks so much for your help.

    Hey Elizabeth,

    Just wanted to follow up and let you know that we released version 4.1.1 last night and it included a fix for this issue. Please update to the latest version if you haven’t already and do let us know if you continue to see any issues from there. 🙂
