ParticipantInstant payments (through Paypal) are not reflecting an automatic “completed” status. The transaction was made 39 minutes ago, and I’ve confirmed that the funds were received by PayPal. Is there a time lag when the system will update or is there a bug preventing the status from changing or do I need to change a setting for this to occur? Thanks

MemberHey Tony, so this sort of thing is really a question you’d be better off posing to the good people at WooThemes.
In short however, my understanding is that the default PayPal gateway that ships with WooCommerce relies on something called IPN – Instant Payment Notification.
Despite the name this is not necessarily instant and at peak times (from PayPal’s perspective) there may be a time lag. Connectivity issues can also present an impediment.
With all that said, this is really something to pose to Woo as it is their plugin that handles interaction with PayPal 🙂

ParticipantHey Barry, I found out that IPN transactions will only be marked as “complete” on virtual products; if it’s not a virtual product (e.g., one that requires shipment) the status will only mature to “processing” and then must be manually changed on the backend when shipment occurs. I’ve changed my tickets to virtual and shall see if that resolves correctly. Thanks

ParticipantTony, Did changing the tickets to a “Virtual Product” allow for auto completion? I tried this thinking the same thing but no luck. For my test case, it did not auto complete.
Interested in your experience.December 11, 2012 at 6:22 pm #29279Tony
ParticipantHi Terry, I eventually got it to work by checking both “virtual” and “downloadable” boxes. Also make sure your hosting company has port 443 open to accept incoming messages. For me, it required an upgrade to my hosting plan. Good luck.

Participanttony,
Thank you for your reply! I’ll try that.
Have a great day!December 13, 2012 at 11:18 am #29429Matthew
ParticipantBy setting it as downloadble, customers can only purchase one ticket at a time. Unless you change the number of purchasable downloads in the Woocommerce settings.

MemberGuys I’m inclined to see this as a WooCommerce issue rather than WooTickets as such, but as always we’re open to your feedback if you can see merit in us changing the default product type.
