ParticipantHi,
Spoke about this a few weeks back. You all sent me the link to install 2.09 back in place, but my question is, do I need to uninstall the 2.10 to install the 2.09? And if so, will I loose all of the events I have entered to date? Just need help with the move back so I don’t loose 300+ events.January 15, 2013 at 12:19 pm #30889Jonah
ParticipantHi Audra,
No, you will not lose your events by uninstalling 2.0.9 and you don’t need to uninstall the plugin, just overwrite the plugin folder files with the new ones in the new version. Always make sure to make backups of everything before updating though!

ParticipantThanks Jonah, tried that. Got an error message saying 2.10 is already installed, it wouldn’t take 2.0.9. That’s why I figured I had to uninstall it.

Participant… so how shall I proceed?

ParticipantHow are you doing this? Are you uploading a new zip file in WordPress? I would suggest trying to upload the files and folders manually via FTP. And be sure not to mistake the core plugin The Events Calendar with Events Calendar PRO.

ParticipantYes, trying to upload the zipfile for 2.0.9 and it says a newer version exists that there is an error.

ParticipantRight, so I would recommend manually uploading the files and folders from the zip file manually via FTP.

Participantthe new plugin… is it to replace the free plugin or the pro one? Think I might of screwed it up.

ParticipantWell in order to downgrade versions you’ll need to downgrade both the core and PRO plugins. The core plugin is typically in: /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar and the PRO plugin is typically in: /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro – you can get older versions of the core plugin here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/
At this point you might want to just download the existing plugin folders to your computer as a backup and then delete them and then re-upload fresh copies of the older versions.
Does that help?

ParticipantJonah,
got that far… have renamed the old file and installed the 2.0.9 core. Now how do I get the PRO back? Don’t see the download for that or the ability to active it in the plugin edit of the core product. So sorry for the many questions, just got turned around here.
Thanks!January 16, 2013 at 9:18 am #30962Jonah

ParticipantJonah, I know your going to kill me. But when I go back to 2.0.9 it doesn’t layout right. My home page is fine, but the events don’t display right. I updated the free plugin to 2.10 just to see what it does and it NOW shows all the events right (even though I don’t have 2 of the template options in the themes as the video speaks of), but now the home page slider is whacked again. How can I provide you a quick screenshot of the 2 images?

ParticipantActually http://evernote.com/skitch/ is another good option if you want to be able to make comments on the screenshots.

ParticipantOops, sorry I mean attach. I have the images, just don’t see a way to attach them here.
