Events Calendar Pro has been installed and activated on my WordPress network. I upgraded to the developer version but cannot get it to install. On first attempt, I got an “intallation failed” message with a note that the folder for “events-calendar-pro” already exists. I then checked support forums and followed the official route recommended, deactivating the Events Calendar Pro plug-in. The support thread (closed) says I will not lose my data. This is important, as I already have more than 1,000 events listed on live sites. When I went to delete Events Calendar Pro as directed, I saw the warning that ALL DATA WILL BE DELETED. I can’t afford to lose weeks of work, so I need a solution. I want to install the latest developer’s version and record my license key, which I need so ecommerce plug-ins (which I’ve also purchased from you) will work. Please help! I’m providing the URL for a site nearing completion but not yet online.

Hi – sorry for any confusion.

WordPress displays that message about all data being deleted whenever a plugin has registered some code to run during the uninstallation process (ie, when you delete it). It doesn’t necessarily mean data will actually be removed and that is definitely not the case with Events Calendar PRO.

With that in mind while, we’d always recommend making a backup (and knowing how to restore the backup in case something does go wrong), you can fully expect the data to still be present once you re-install the plugin second time round.

    Does that clarify things?

This thread’s not seen much activity for the last couple of weeks so I’ll go ahead and close it. Of course if you still need help with this or any other issue please don’t hesitate to create a new thread (or threads) and one of the team will be only too happy to help. Thanks!
