Claire
ParticipantGood morning
We’ve added the Community Events add-on to our site. All the links on the ‘My upcoming events’ list page are missing “index.php” from their URL so an error message is returned when the link is clicked. The only exception is the ‘View’ link which works as it includes “index.php” in the URL.
Most of the Community Events add-on generated URLs do not respect the permalink configuration and break when clicked. Have you seen this issue before with custom permalinks?
Broken link examples:
Event title
Edit
Delete
Organizer name
Venue name
View past events

MemberHi Claire,
I’m sorry to hear you have experienced difficulties.
Most of our users use regular ‘pretty’ permalinks rather than default or pathinfo (index.php) based permalinks as you are doing and – unfortunately – that can mean problems do sometimes slip in under the radar.
I’ll certainly get this logged as a bug, but would it be possible for you to move away from pathinfo/index.php type permalinks to another pattern – or do you have to do things this way due to hosting constaints?

Member…Just to add, one thing you could try as an alternative is using this shortcode on a custom page:
[tribe_community_events]That might work as a replacement for the regular set of Community Events pages – though depending on your setup it’s possible it may not.

ParticipantThanks for your response, we’re only using our current permalink structure as we haven’t tested any others so far, so we’ll try using the pretty permalinks and see if that fixes our issues. If this is a bug and we can work around it that’s fine, we were just hoping to clarify the issue and make sure it wasn’t a something we’d missed in our settings. It’s great to know that we can also fall back on the shortcode if changing the permalinks causes us any issues, thanks for letting us know!

MemberHappy to help 🙂
Switching to pretty permalinks (without any index.php element) would definitely be ideal here – but let me know how you get on or if you hit further problems.
