GuestHi,
I’ve seen you improved the WPML plugin for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO in Version 3.12. Does it mean, which It is not improved for community event, tickets and etc? If not, How is the plan for? Or when will be 100% compatible? Because I have several website which are in multilingual language to submit event/ticket and waiting for this compatibility. Thanks.September 1, 2015 at 8:35 am #1000910George
ParticipantHey Farhad,
Community Events and our Tickets frameworks are indeed still awaiting some compatibility improvements for WMPL.
However, these plugins “inherit” much of the code and functionality from Core and PRO, so the improvements in Core and PRO will still positively impact these other plugins.
Things are still not 100% compatible, which is true – and unfortunately, I do not know a specific date upon which things will be 100% compatible.
I’m genuinely sorry about the frustration that can arise from all this! We’re working hard to improve compatibility even more, it is unfortunately a bigger project than we originally thought.
Let me know if this information helps, Farhad!
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 1, 2015 at 8:51 am #1000923Farhad
GuestHi George,
It took few years to start the WPML improvement already and It is done just partially on Pro calendar and not others, In this case, It means will take may few more years to slowly slowly go through 100% as you have many plugins so far, each few month the new plugin comes out, but unfortunately Compatibility’s take long time. Maybe if the calendar pro management team decide to charge the WPML compatibility also same as other plugins, It will finish within one or two months same as other new plugins. So, Shall I consider to move to other event platform or there is chance still?

ParticipantHey Farhad,
I’m sorry that you’re disappointed at the lack of 100% compatibility – it indeed is a slow process and WMPL does a whole lot of “funky”, non-traditional things that we have to take into account if we want to improve compatibility.
Every one of our plugins is 100% standards-compliant with the WordPress methods for translation, so any translation plugin that follows the norms should work fine with it. Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA on when this will extend to include WPML itself, too.
So if that uncertainty is something you can not afford with your project, then moving to another events platform is indeed a rational choice. I’m sorry that it’s caused by lack of support in our plugin for WMPL 🙁
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns here.
Sincerely,
GeorgeSeptember 17, 2015 at 7:05 am #1005915Support Droid
