GuestWe are looking for an event manager that will import from a csv file (which I know this will do) however, we have up to 200 events a month and some of them are recurring and some of them require registration (free) and some do not. So some questions:
1. how many events can we import at a time and how far out is the date range?
2. can we import recurring events too?
3. can we import events with free registration?
4. If we import 200 events and some are changed or need to be removed, will they be over-written or do we need to manually go in and update them?Lots of questions I know but this will be helpful.
Thanks!May 15, 2018 at 3:57 am #1530478Courtney
MemberHi Kristin
1. We don’t count individual events on import. We only focus on how many scheduled times you run the importer. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregators-import-limits-work/
2. At this time, importing events does not preserve recurring events features. If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.
You can suggest it it http://tribe.uservoice.com.
3. We support importing tickets in CSV format: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/. We do not import tickets created on other systems to be a ticket within your site.
However, Eventbrite Tickets does connect to selling Eventbrite tickets within your site.
4. Changes from the source will be updated. If the source is deleted, you will need to manually delete the event from your site. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

GuestHi Courtney,
Thanks for the reply.
1. We are not currently using the events aggregator, we are simply uploading a csv file in the Import section of the Standard version. We were given a sample file to use that already has the fields mapped.
2. ok, I guess these would all have to entered manually but if it is recurring, then we would only need to enter it once anyway. I would just think that the csv sample that we are using could some how have another field that marks it as recurring with the date and time fields just like the other fields.
3. We don’t need to “sell” tickets, only an rsvp or free registration. Is that not included in the pro or standard version to be able to register for an event without a payment or ticket purchase?
4. okthanks!

MemberHi Kristin
Gotcha! To my knowledge we haven’t encountered an upper limit on CSV entries per file. I’m checking in with more senior team members on that verdict still.
I’d love to have recurring support in imports, but so far, it’s not a feature quite yet.
You can use the example csv in https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/#rsvp-fields to import free events as RSVP fields.
Does that make sense?
Thanks
