Importing Issues

Hi,

I’m new to The Events Calendar Pro, but not new to importing or WordPress. I’m having some issues importing events. I watched the video and it seems pretty straightforward, but it’s not functioning as expected for me.

I have 1 venue with 1 organizer that was setup manually and I’m trying to import 67 show dates. I’ll run the import and it says that all 67 were imported, but only the ones with no description are imported (or so it seems).

I’ve added columns to my csv for Venue and Organizer.

Hey there, John!

So sorry for the mix-up here. Venues and Organizers should be imported separately and before events are imported to the CSV Importer (Events > Import). I can see how that would be super confusing, but you can select which post type is being imported before attaching the CSV file (screenshot).

Is that what you think is happening? Let me know if that helps sort things out and I’d be happy to keep working on it with you. 🙂

I determined that if there is an Event Description in my spreadsheet that the event does not import. Anything I should look at?

My issue somehow resolved itself. I imported my events without any description and they were all there. I then re-imported with the description and they updated.

Oh wow! I’m glad that the issue seems to have been resolved, but we will certainly take a look at this as well to make sure there isn’t something we can do to prevent that from happening in the future.
