importing events (csv)

Hi there,

I tried looking through your forum but couldn’t find what I was looking for so I thought I’d just create a post and ask. I’m in the middle of setting up our site with this plugin and I have a question about the csv file import.

In the csv file, you have fields like:
• Event Venue Name
• Event Category

For the Event Venue Name, am I able to enter a venue + address and it will work (i.e. The Hall, 123 Hall St Hallmark 2000)? Or do I have to import events first as a separate step so that when I enter the event venue name, it will pull the address for me?

Also, for the category part, if I enter a category that doesn’t exist, will it create it for me? Or do I have to create the category first before I can put something in that field?

Hi,

Thanks for using our plugins. I can help answer your questions.

For CSV import on the venues it is best to import the venue first on its own csv and then import the event and match the venue name.

On the venue import you can add all the venue fields including the address.

For the event category it will create the category if one does not exist.
