ParticipantHi,
We’re about to begin a redesign of our website and we’re using Events Calendar Pro. We have so many events that if we migrate the events manually, it will take approx 10-12 hours. So, we’re getting in touch with support to inquire about an easier option, such as an import/export functionality.
We would be ok with NOT importing old/past events so some ability to filter based on date would be desirable.
Also, we’ve never been able to get the “clean up” of recurring events to work. This is set to clean up after 1 month but old events continue to show up when searched.
Thanks,
Michelle

MemberHi Michelle.
Our core/free plugin includes a CSV importer but no built-in exporter.
However, Events, Organizers, and Venues are 3 separate post types and should work just fine with WordPress’ built-in wp-admin > Tools > Export functionality.
General advice is to activate all the same plugins and active theme on your new site and then run the wp-admin > Tools > Import > WordPressĀ tool.
I hope this helps. It usually goes very quickly.
Please let me know š

ParticipantThanks, Cliff! I’ll send this to our dev team.
You didn’t answer my question about the event ‘clean up’ function – it’s never worked for us. Any idea why?
Another question:
How do we access the past recurring events through programming? We’re trying to exclude past events from our custom search engine. If you need more information, lmk.

MemberRegarding cleanup of past events:
If I understand you correctly, you’re saying that events older than your cutoff (1 month) AREĀ NOTĀ appearing on the calendar views but ARE appearing in your site’s search results.
If you want to actually delete Event posts (instead of just hiding them from calendar views), one of our users suggested a way to auto-delete ‘tribe_events’ post type posts (note: it’sĀ tribe_events post type, notĀ tribe_event)
Potentially a less “nuclear” option (deleting) is to create a custom WP-Cron (like a server cronjob) to change past events from Published to Pending or Draft or a custom post status.
If you have any follow-up questions, please provide some screenshots and/or links. Thanks!
