ParticipantThis is a repeat of a previous ticket, I was busy and was not able to answer properly
When I use Facebook Import the start and end time of the event is off by four hours. I checked my timezone settings and they are correctly set to eastern. These are the steps I am using to import an event:
1) Go to the fb event and get the ID
2) Paste the ID in the ‘Import events by their Facebook ID’ form
3) Click ‘Import Event’Try with this event id 160839737422450

ParticipantHi cristiana,
Thanks for coming back and asking again! Can you verify that you have your Facebook App ID and App Secret set up?

ParticipantHello again,
I happened to have my test site set to North Dakota – Center, and the event imported correctly, but for the Central time zone. (Screenshot: http://d.pr/i/usbY) Which specific time zone do you have your WordPress site set to? Could you possibly send a screen shot?
Let’s see if we can narrow down what’s different between my test setup and yours. Let me know how it turns out.

ParticipantHey christiana,
Hmmm. I was able to get it working for the New York time zone on my test site. Could you check a few things for me?
1) First, can you confirm that you have tried this after deactivating other plugins and using a default theme?
2) And have you tried a different event? Does that also show a four-hour time differential? The four hours is the difference between New York time and UTC.
3) You should also check your hosting setup to see if there’s something there forcing the UTC timezone. Please run through those three and let me know what happens. I apologize that this is taking so long to troubleshoot…it’s harder to diagnose an issue when we can’t recreate it. But we really thank you for your patience.

ParticipantI figured out the problem, there was this:
date_default_timezone_set(‘America/New_York’);
in my functions.php
I took it out and the times were correctSeptember 19, 2013 at 4:02 pm #66884Julie Kuehl
ParticipantHi cristiana,
Yaaay! I’m glad you got it figured out. And thanks for letting us know.
