MemberHi Curt,
We are releasing a iCal Importer sooner for the Events Calendar.
We just finished the beta test and doing the final touches on it.
Thanks

GuestSorry for my ignorance. If iCal support is added will that also allow google calendar syncing? Also, if someone adds an event to the google calendar, will it automatically show up in your plugin? or will someone have to refresh the back end? If someone adds an event to the calendar through the plugin, will it also show up in the google calendar? I’m basically looking for a way to display and interact with my google calendar on my wordpress page seamlessly.

MemberThe iCal is a manual importer into the Events Calendar. It does not have any syncing features as you describe with Google Calendar or any other service.
If you would like to request that feature please head to our UserVoice Page and add your own or upvote that feature as they will increase the chances of it being added to a future version.

GuestJust for clarification, the iCal support will allow me to import once my google calendar events into the event calendar? Is this the case or when you say “manual importer” is it something that checks regularly for new events and adds them?
It seems as I am reading this that, you have added support for iCal that will allow you to add the iCal link and pull the current calendar events and for any future events you would need to use the app in wordpress?
If it is a manual process, if I decide to do an import today, then an import next week, will the importer be smart enough to know what is a duplicate entry?

MemberHi Mike,
I am not sure on the details yet for the iCal importer. From my understanding it is a one time importer for iCal files and it does not regularly check for updates. All the information about how the iCal importer will work will be available on its release. For now this is all I have for you.
Thanks
