ParticipantHello, When importing events from Google Calendar using the iCal Importer, the event times are not correct. All of my events are in the Baltimore area. I have tested multiple timezone settings including UTC -4 and “New York” in Dashboard > Settings > General and have toggled the settings in Dashboard > Events > Settings > General > Timezone Settings but I can’t get the times on my website to match the times in my Google Calendar. The events on my website are listed here: http://www.stopglaucomahopkins.org/events/. I added Import URL the in the System Information field.
I found that adding date_default_timezone_set( ‘America/New_York’ ); to functions.php causes the event ending times to show up correctly, but the start times all become 12AM, which is not correct. Can you help? Thank you! 🙂

KeymasterHello webadaptive,
Thanks for going pro and welcome to the forums!
I’m sorry you are having this problem with the event start times. Let me try to help you out here.
A see that you are using some older versions of our plugins. Could you please update the plugins to the latest versions and check if the problem still exist?
Also, could you find out what is the timezone / time setting of the server where the site is running? That could also cause a hiccup.
Let me know and we’ll take it from there. Meanwhile I will also run some tests with the file you sent.
Cheers,

KeymasterCould you please check if you set your site timezone (Dashboard > Settings > General) to UTC, whether you get the starting times properly then?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Andras, Thank for replying. I applied the updates available for The Events Calendar plugins, including an update for the iCal plugin that fixed a bug with timestamps. All is working now. Our event times are listed correctly with “New York” as the timezone set in Dashboard > Settings > General. We can close the ticket now. Thanks again for your response and help on this issue! 😀
