ParticipantHi
I’ve installed the facebook plugin to the Pro version and the ‘Import: Facebook’ link is not working for me. The Facebook tab in Settings is working. But I cannot get to the import section to check in new events. Is this a know issue with the plugin? Thanks

ParticipantHey richbkk,
What Facebook events are you trying to import? There are limitations with the Facebook API on what we can import. It must be from a Facebook organization or Facebook page, not a personal profile. And the calendars must be rated for all ages. Oh, and events must be in the future.
Would any of those be the source of the problems?

ParticipantHey Julie
All events are from a Facebook organisation or Facebook page, not a personal profile. They are rated for all ages. And the events are for the future. So I don’t think the problem lies here.
The problem is accessing the Import: Facebook section …edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=import-fb-events
This I am able to gain access to this section only periodically (once every few days) for the most part hitting this link just stalls so that I cannot access to manually check the importable events.
I’ve tried setting through ‘Settings > Facebook’ to automatically import events but this does not seem to work either. It still requires that i go in to the above link to manually check the events.
When I can gain access (only managed this three times in the past week) and check the events they do import perfectly (aside from the thumbnails being too, which I know is an issue your team are working on to fix.
Thanks

ParticipantHi richbkk,
That’s some very odd behavior there. And it makes me think it might be a hosting issue. Have you tried setting your site up in a local environment? Does it do the same thing? If that’s not something you’re up to, you might want to contact your hosting provider to see if they have ideas on why you’re only able to access the section every few days.
Can you give those a try and let me know if it makes any difference?

ParticipantHi Julie
Tried that. Setup in MAMP and the same issue.
Has anyone else posted a similar issue?
Any updates for this plugin on the horizon?
Thanks

ParticipantHello again richbkk,
Thanks for trying the local install. It’s got me really puzzled now. I haven’t heard anyone else mention an issue quite like this. Can you share which Facebook events you are trying to import so I can try to duplicate the behavior? Do you have the Facebook ID that’s been giving you problems? I suppose I should ask if you’ve tried other IDs as well, in case it’s a problem with just that event.
There are always updates on the horizon for plugins. But since I’ve not heard of a similar issue I don’t know that an update would address it. Could, but also maybe could not.
I’d like to see if I can duplicate it locally first. If that doesn’t work, perhaps a quick look through your dashboard would be the next step. Let me know about the Facebook ID(s) and I’ll give it a try.
