Import Event Featured Image with CSV file: point towards existing Media

I have already loaded in my Media Library the images to be associated as Featured Images to some events, and I would just like to point towards these media when I import events from a CSV file. If I do so and report the url from that media, the very same picture will be reloaded as many times as it appears in the CSV file (-> many duplicates in my Media Library), causing waste of resource and crash (Gateway Time-out error). Isn’t there any way to just point towards an existing image in the Media Library? Using the permalink doesn’t work neither…

Alternative: as I need to use many times the same image for some events belonging to the same category, isn’t there a way to associate a default Featured Image to an Event Category (typically, they would be possibly overwritten when managing a single event, but I don’t even need that)? That would be fairly economical, as it means we would just need to define a Featured Image once that would be reused as many times as needed for the events that are set to belong to that category…

Also, we currently have no csv image import feature, but it will be included in our 4.1 release, which we hope to get out before the end of the month.

We also have no default feature image option, but there maybe a plugin on WordPress.org that can do that for custom post types. Ours is tribe_events.
