    Hi

I am trying to add a new page to import events from and it won’t work.
I’ve tried to add the single event from event ID 1517570611795087 and it gives me this message:

    The following errors have occurred:
Either the event with ID 1517570611795087 does not exist, is marked as private on Facebook or we couldn’t reach the Facebook API
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported.
The following errors have occurred during importing images:
A valid URL was not provided.
Please note that this does not effect importing of associated events unless noted. ”

If you visit the event page you will see that it is public and it exists https://www.facebook.com/events/1517570611795087/
I have several Facebook pages I import from and will continue to add.

    Please help!

Hi Maikol – sorry to hear you’re facing difficulties.

Sometimes events/pages with an adult theme (including a connection with venues serving alcohol) can have additional restrictions imposed on them and, sadly, that’s not something we can control.

My hunch is that that is what’s happening in this case, but you could bear out this theory by attempting to import a test event such as this one:

    URL: https://www.facebook.com/events/209426265763307/
    ID: 209426265763307

Assuming that works for you then I think this issue is particular to the event in question (or the venue it is associated with). Does that help/clarify things?

Yes it worked to import the event you linked.

To remove the restriction and be able to import the event, the page owner/admin needs to change it’s restrictions to everyone? As in this pic http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6843796/graph-api-returns-false-or-unsupported-get-request-accessing-public-facebook ??

Essentially yes, so if you are the page admin – or can contact them – maybe that’s something you can explore?

This was the same problem I was having and you helped me resolve it. Thank you!
