    Hi George

We do import future events and suggest a limit of 3 months or less into the future. However, you will be able to override the future imports. We suggest the limit to preserve your website’s performance.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

    — you didn’t answer – will it import all pasts events ?

    — what do you mean “we suggest a limit of 3 months ?”

    —- is there a setting that i can override / change ?

—- how the number of imported future event impacts website performance ?

let’s imagine i am subscribed to 50 pages updates on a daily basis
each of them has 10 events in next 3 month and 10 events in next 60 month.

if i understand correctly, without data limit plugin will import daily 100 events and without data limit plugin will import daily 50 events . correct ?

—- will this be a big difference in update speed?

    — does all events updates happen in same time or how is it possible to “stretch” updates during the day / week ? what are possible options ?

    Hi George

We do not import past events.

We advise limiting to 3 months. From the admin view of Import Settings:

“Limit the number of imported events by number, date range, or not at all; on slower websites this may impact the success of imports. Selecting a shorter time period or a smaller number of events may improve results”

You can override this at your own risk to have no limits.

Causing your site to be constantly searching endlessly into the future for events to import may create extra drain on your website hosting server. This can create a big difference in speed. You will need to test and see. Or perhaps do one initial fetch of far reaching events, and then modify down to just the next 3 months at max.

For each source that you import, you can schedule it to import on demand, every 30 minutes (uses lots of resources), hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. The more frequently and further ahead that you have your scheduled imports set to search, the more resources this will create on your webhost.

    Does this help?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

    really ?

my main ideas with this plugin was to import a lot of past events to be able to create good base for SEO.

it is not possible at all to import 100-400 of past events ?
is it possible to do a hack or custom code to just few times import old events ? i really need this feature …

    Hi George

I am assuming when you mentioned to import events from a page that you were indicating a Facebook page. Is that correct? If so, Facebook doesn’t let us import the past events really. That is set by their own permissions, and not something we can override. However, Google Calendar and others do offer previous dates. Or were you wanting to import events from another WordPress website using our plugins?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

indeed there can be a confusion, so let me ask again.

i have a collection of 400 link of past facebook events. Most of these links are still working.
Some of them created by 1 pages, some of them have several pages/users hosts, some are public events but created by individuals.

will i be able to import them all together and easily ?
    5 urls to test => https://pastebin.com/DL7drXxZ

    b)
if you could import my 5 events and send me link or show me screenshots that would be awesome !
if you can’t send me links at least try to import them.

i am interested if it can work :
    a) to import them 1 by one
    b) if i can copy paste all 400 links in one move and import it.

    Hi George

Facebook does not allow imports of any past events. Unfortunately, Event Aggregator will not be helpful for importing these due to Facebook’s parameters.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
