ics files import wrong timezone

I’ve attempted to import events using several ics files, but the events all show the event time off by +6 hours. For example, an event that begins at 9 a.m. is importing as beginning at 3 p.m. The calendar of origin is in the same timezone as my site. I have checked my WordPress installation, and the timezone is correctly set as UTC-6 (US Central Standard Time). I have attempted the import by both downing and importing the ics file and using the ical url with the same result. I’ve also attempted the import after switching between both Event Calendar Timezone modes, with the same result.

Any suggestions?

I believe I’ve figured out the issue. All imports seem to be working correctly, but oddly the preview of the events are still showing the wrong timezone info. Is this a common phenomenon?

I’m happy to hear that it seems to be working now. Can you tell me how you solved it?

How the import works is (for any feed) is it checks if there is a timezone defined for the feed. If yes, it uses that. If no timezone is defined, then checks if there is a TZ defined for the events. If not, then it takes the times as if they were UTC.

Most probably this is what you encountered.

Would be happy to hear about your solution. It would also help some others in the community.
