ParticipantHello,
Since purchasing iCal Importer last month, I have been unable to get it to operate properly. Per your video tutorial, I set up my iCal feed and initiated the import as instructed. I will be using this calendar to notify my followers of when a weekly event occurs, which changes every month. However, for some reason, instead of repeating the event every week as reflected in my iCal calendar, iCal Importer is duplicating the event twice in the same day and not reflecting the remaining three weeks. For instance, if the event is from Saturday to Sunday and is supposed to repeat this pattern for four weeks, the first two occurrences is scheduled on the same day for the first week and does not display the reoccurring event for the remaining three weeks.
I am using the Avada theme, which this calendar plugin is recommended and is supposed to seamlessly integrate with this theme. I am still designing the site on the backend. I’ve checked all the settings, and I don’t notice anything out of place. Please feel free to compare the two calendars so that you are able to have a better insight into the issues I am facing.
Also, the iCal Importer is not updating/importing every 30 minutes per my settings.
Though this is extremely frustrating, I am more than confident that this is a simple fix. At your earliest convince, could you please advise me on how to get this issue resolved? Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.

ParticipantHey Osmundo,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
To start, the import running every 30 minutes may not be an exact 30 minutes. The schedule is based on WP-Cron which isn’t run until there is page request. Since it appears that your site might not yet be live, it will most likely be further off from the “every 30 minutes” schedule.
I tested the import into my calendar as well as downloaded the “.ics” file and imported into my iCal locally. The file imported the same into my Events Calendar via the iCal Importer as it did when it imported into my local Apple Calendar. I then reviewed your site and they all imported the events identically. I then reviewed the .ics file that was downloaded and based on the data there, all the events seem to have imported correctly.
If they aren’t imported as you are expecting, it looks like the issue here is with the creation of the event where you’re importing from.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantGood morning Josh,
Thank you for your reply; however, my problem haven’t been completely addressed.
1. The calendar is not updating at all, unless I do a manual importing. I’ve made changes to the calendar last Thursday, and the old events are still showing alongside the new events.
2. Per my initial correspondence, the calendar is not properly reflecting my events. I have an event that occurs on January 16-17, 23-24, 30-31, and February 6-7. Your calendar is placing TWO events on January 16th-17th, and that’s it. The remaining dates are completely absent. However, on my other calendar apps (BusyCal, iCal, and aCal Lite by Awesome).
This calendar is the only calendar that is not displaying my events correctly. The two reasons that prompted me to purchase the iCal Importer were the ratings and the fact that it integrates perfectly into the Avada. However, if I can’t get it to work properly as advertised, I will be left with no other alternative but to request a refund. At your earliest convenience, could please advise me as what other option are available in getting this problem resolved? Your attention to this matter would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you

ParticipantHello Brian,
Thank you for the update. We are praying for Josh and his family. Yes, if you can resolve the iCal Importer issue, that’ll be great. If we come to a conclusion that this plugin doesn’t work as needed, then I will request a refund at that time.
At your earliest convenience, could you please advise me on what steps we need to take? I look forward to hearing from you.Thank you!
Respectfully,
Osmundo

ParticipantHey Osmundo,
I’m terribly sorry for the delay here. I very much appreciate your kind words and thank you for your patience.
The issues with event information not updating in your calendar when modifying events where there being imported from, that is currently a known issue that we have set to be resolved in our upcoming release.
However, based on what you’re describing, if you delete an event within your Google Calendar I don’t believe the expected behavior here would be that the event would get deleted in your calendar on your website. You would need manually delete from both.
I’ve done several tests with different settings trying to replicate the issues described here in regards to import, however I haven’t been able to directly replicate the issues with the other events not importing (https://cloudup.com/cfJqS9dlyCQ). I’m also seeing the two events importing for January 16 – 17 however when looking at the the data from the .ics file that is being used for the import it contains both of those events (https://cloudup.com/c92X4rY5bxv).
For this, have you tried following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict with an existing plugin or theme that is causing the import issues?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Osmundo,
Also, as a thank you for your patience, I’ve gone ahead and refunded your purchase and manually re-activated your license so you’ll still have full access to updates and support for the plugin.
I didn’t want my delays in being able to support you here to limit your options for a refund (30 day limit) if these issues weren’t able to be resolved on your site.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Osmundo,
No problem!
The core issue in this thread most likely won’t be addressed in an upcoming release (unless what you’re currently experiencing happens to get addressed in a seemingly unrelated issue).
Did you have a chance to follow the Testing for Conflicts procedures linked above to see if the issue persisted with other plugins deactivated?
Thanks!

ParticipantYes, I deactivated all the other plugins and the problem still persist. Do you know when is the update due to be released?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Osmundo,
We have a maintenance release with bug fixes that should be coming this week. Barring any unforeseen issues in the final qa/release process, you should be seeing the update coming this week.
Thanks!
