Gabi
GuestHi
We’re interested in your iCal importer plugin and have a couple questions:
Would it be possible to use the plugin only one time to import our google calendar into the Events calendar on our wordpress site and then disconnect the google calendar? We would then load new events only directly into the Events calendar on our site.
Will all imported events remain loaded after disconnecting from Google calendar? In this case would you recommend buying a license only for 1 year, since we would not have to import any new events? And am I correct, that it would be safe to perform future updates only for the Events calendar and not the iCal importer anymore?
Thank you

MemberGood evening Gabi and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.Would it be possible to use the plugin only one time to import our google calendar into the Events calendar on our wordpress site and then disconnect the google calendar?
Yes, absolutely, you have the choice to run one-time imports or scheduled imports. In your case the one-time import would be the appropriate choice.
Will all imported events remain loaded after disconnecting from Google calendar?
Yes they will.
In this case would you recommend buying a license only for 1 year, since we would not have to import any new events?
Yes, I would recommend it as a 1 year license also provides you with premium forum support and updates (which it looks like you will not need, but is still nice to haveĀ if you ever change your mind along the way).
Also, there is unfortunately no shorter license available at this time.
And am I correct, that it would be safe to perform future updates only for the Events calendar and not the iCal importer anymore?
Yes, you are correct. Once the events are imported using the iCal importer, they basically become standardĀ the Events Calendar events and are completely separate from the Google Calendar events (except in the case where you are not using a one-time import of course).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
