GuestHello! I have two questions about Pro, related to a community project we’re undertaking which would create a master calendar of events for a community. Currently, there are several calendars, all with their own data. Ideally, we’d like to take in all the data from the other calendars (assuming they can iCal export, which most can) and then be able to present the combined data on the member websites which want the fuller dataset (not all do) in some form, whether through an iframe tag or other reliable means.
1. I see that there’s an easy way to export calendar data as an iCal file importable elsewhere, like Google Calendar. But is there a way to import iCal files from other calendars?
2. If we take in all this calendar data and present it on abcdevents.com (not a real domain), how can we also show the calendar on efghevents.com and someothermember.com? (We’ve considered keeping all of the pages on abcdevents.com, using replica pages of the member sites, but parsing this stuff out directly to the members would be the ideal situation.)
Many thanks for your help!

MemberHello Dave,
We have an importer but it is still in beta so no guarantees it will work beautifully. You can request a copy of it for trial though, by e-mailing pro /at/ tri.beAbout showing the same calendar on different web sites, technically there can be many ways to do this, but it is outside the scope of our support. I guess you could use an iframe, but I think you’d need to consult with a developer on how to find the solution that best works for you.
Hope this helps!

GuestWe used to use an early version of your calendar and it was ical compatible. We now have version 2.0.8 free version and think we want to upgrade to the Pro. We have two sites/domains. The Events Calendar is installed in site 1. We want the same calendar and all of the events to be displayed in site 2. Does the Pro version let us do this either as an ical hook or an iframe?

MemberHi there NetMagic. Thanks for the note here, and my apologies that we’ve taken some time to get you a response – Joyce, who was previously managing this thread, is unfortunately no longer with us. I’m happy to take point on this for you going forward and will be checking back here daily to ensure I get you a response in as timely a fashion as possible.
The current PRO release is indeed compatible with iCal. However, the only way to easily export from site 1 to site 2 – unless you have some 3rd party plugin that can duplicate events via an iCal file – would be to use the basic RSS feeds that are generated at /events/upcoming/feed. That isn’t the most efficient or effective method, though, so you may better suited just duplicating the entries manually. We’ve also got a CSV-based importer that is currently in beta stages, but I’d be happy to let you play around with if you thought it might help…let me know if you’re interested. Thanks for your patience so far!
