ICAL Google Calendar TimeZone is GMT

Hey guys,
I read this topic but it doesn’t help me: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/ical-google-calendar-timezone-is-gmt/

I have the same problem.
When I import the ical with URL in Google Calendar it set everything to GMT +0:00 UTC but I need the Rome fuse (+1)
If I export the .ics file and import it, everything is correct but not from URL.

The icalendar.org validator return these errors:
Invalid TZID value (Europe/Rome) near line # 9
Reference: 3.2.19. Time Zone Identifier

Thanks for reaching out!

I have tested your feed and imported it into another TEC calendar. The results were good, the events have the ‘Rome’ timezone.

Not quite sure why the validator gives an error on the timezone identifier (TZID). I checked it with ‘America/New_York’ and that also gives an error.

The TZIDs are taken from the following list and according to our knowledge they are valid: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tz_database_time_zones

What is the timezone set for the Google calendar?

Unfortunately we don’t have any control on how Google Calendar interprets the iCal feed. I will try to get another set of eyes on this to get another perspective.

I don’t know how but my problem is solved.
Now Google calendar import the events with the correct time!
The time zone in google calendar is wrong (always GMT +0:00 UTC and I need +1 Rome) but the events are set in the right position on the calendar.
I don’t remember if I had updated The Events Calendar plugin recently (after this post)
But now is solved.

My actually versions:
The Events Calendar 4.6.11.1
The Events Calendar PRO 4.4.23
