ParticipantHi there,
How come that I can’t find a way to publish 2 different calendars in one of my sites ?
I bought Events calendar pro because I thought it was a paying option and yet, it seems that it’s not possible.
I need one calendar for public and one for members…
Can you help me ?
ThanksMarch 31, 2014 at 6:53 am #125162Casey
Participantdesignmyweb,
Thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, we don’t have any “out of the box” functionality to allow for this, however you could use ‘Private’ events for this functionality, so that only logged-in members would be able to view these. If this is something you’d like to see in a future release, I would suggest submitting it as an idea on our UserVoice page. Our team periodically reviews the most popular ideas for possible inclusion in a future release of the plugin. Thanks! π

ParticipantHi Casey, thanks for the reply but…. I still need assistance… π
How can do what you say: “you could use βPrivateβ events for this functionality, so that only logged-in members would be able to view these”… Any suggestion on how to do that ?
I will submit my request to the UserVoice page, of course…April 4, 2014 at 5:53 am #127995Casey
Participantdesignmyweb,
You can create private events by setting the Visibility to ‘Private’ in your Publish settings (screenshot). Give that a shot and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks! π-Casey-

ParticipantHey Casey,
Thanks for you reply.
I’d already seen that option but I don’t understand how it works. Where do you handle permission…
I explain: what I need is to display the calendar with birthday dates (for example), and classes dates and seminars dates, ok ? How can I allow only the people of my team to be able to see the birthday calendar ?
If I’m not mistaken, if I use the option that you’ve suggested, the birthday events will only be visible by the administrator, right ? This does not work… Sorry !
The birthday calendar needs to be visible for people wha are not admin… πApril 7, 2014 at 5:49 am #128814Casey
Participantdesignmyweb,
The post visibility is using default WordPress functionality that is described further here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Content_Visibility. If you install a capability manager plugin, like Members, then you can edit the user roles that you wish to allow to view private events by giving them the ‘read_private_posts’ capability. This should allow them to view ANY private posts (including events) on your site.Give that a shot and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks! π

ParticipantHi Casey,
Thanks for the follow-up.
I succeeded in synchronizing permissions of my membership plugin and private visibility but, for that I had to select editor for my member’s role.
I will see in the future if this works or not. But for the time being, my issue is resolved. Thanks for your very kind help π
Have a great day…

ParticipantGreat. Thanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Since it looks like you’re all set, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
By the way, if you have a minute or two, we would love it if you’d write a few words for us here: http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/the-events-calendar?filter=5
Thanks in advance. π
Cheers,
