I am getting the following when I save my License Key – Sorry, key validation server is not available……this is in red

Really sorry about this – the issue right now is that http://tri.be is down temporarily, which we are working to fix. License requests ping that domain so it is failing 🙁

If you are in urgent need of this license validation to work, you could add the following line of code to your site’s wp-config.php file, which will make the license validation requests circumvent the http://tri.be domain name:


define( 'PUE_UPDATE_URL', 'https://theeventscalendar.com' );


If editing the wp-config.php file is not something you’re interested in for this issue, then no worries; sit tight! We’re hoping to have the http://tri.be site back up in a matter of a few hours at most.

Hi Chris,

Sorry about that – at this point, however, the site should be back up and there are no reports of this issue at present. So I would recommend undoing the changes I originally recommended, and then just trying out the license validation/activation again.

If issues persist, you should contact your webhost to make sure that your server can make remote requests correctly.
