    Good afternoon,

I´m working in a calendar of events of my city. I´m interested in letting other companies (websites) that are not mine to use the Events Calendar widget (only the widget in the sidebar of their website) accesing the information from my calendar.

Could you please guide me in how to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards
    Iván Garrido

    Hi Iván

At this time, The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro widgets can only be used on the site hosting the calendar.

If you think that is something you would like as a feature I encourage you to visit our User Voice Page and either upvote an existing request or make a new request there.

You can suggest it it http://tribe.uservoice.com.

Our newest product, http://loxi.io, might have a solution to offer. Rather than hosting events on your website, events and the calendar would be hosted on http://loxi.io and embed code is provided to place the calendar on your site. You could provide this code to other websites to use as well.

Check out a demo account of Loxi. It is fully functional and free to get started.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

Thank you very much for your post.

If there was a way to sincronyze both calendars (that I input events in The Events Calendar and they are shown both in The Events Calendar and Loxi) it could be an option.

If not, I think Loxi is not suitable as a solution for my issue, as I use Event Agregator and the Events Calendar API all the time.

It looks I will need to suggest it in http://tribe.uservoice.com even I think publishing the events added in my calendar in different websites (also as a way to market my calendar) with the widget should be basic….

    Hey Iván

If you ultimately want to host the events on your site initially, then Loxi wouldn’t be a great fit. At this time, it doesn’t sync.

However, we have done a lot of the work to make your vision possible. It isn’t as simple as just giving them some embed code for your events. Each site would need to purchase Event Aggregator and use The Events Calendar on their own sites. They could then import events from your site to their site.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂

    Hi Courtney,

Thank you very much for your email.

Still, I think it is not enough. I think embeding my Events Calendar Widget in other websites should be basic. I think it is ok to have the widget in my website, but not amazingly necessary. Embeding my calendar in other websites would allow me to market my calendar in other kind of websites that prefer to focus in other matters (like online newspapers) and still have somebody working in the agenda (me).

I´m gonna suggest this but I really thought that the point of the widget was to embed it in other websites but mine….

    Kind regards,

    Hey Iván

It may seem like an easy thing, but from a programmatic approach, it would take quite a bit of work to create. I wish that it were easier. We will notify you on your UserVoice suggestion if we are able to implement that feature request.

Until then, if you’d like to create this yourself, we do provide access to the Rest-API protocol. It would require quite a bit of coding skills to set up, but a developer could achieve this using our guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/introduction-events-calendar-rest-api/

So sorry we aren’t able to meet your request at this time.

    Thanks
    Courtney 🙂
