    Hi,

I have finished a first pass styling the Community Events Submission form at <my site>/events/community/add.

After a successful submission the same URL is returned, i.e., <my site>/events/community/add with the form flipped out for a simple message as follows (less the attributes and values):

    Event updated. (Edit)

    Submit another event

The above markup is wrapped in the following div: <div id=”message” class=”update”>

How can I style this div? I have tried a range of CSS selectors the simplest being #message.update but nothing I add impacts the styling.

    Am I missing something obvious?

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi Ben.

This is going to end up being site-specific due to each theme possibly requiring different selectors — plus, your Eventica theme may have specific CSS for Community Events that makes it require more CSS specificity than other themes would require to customize it.

If you provide me a link to your site, I would be able to point you in the right direction. However, you may want to ask Eventica support instead in case they have a built-in way to accomplish what you’re after or at least would be able to provide you the CSS selectors to get you started.

Let me know if you think I can be further help here.

    Hi Cliff,

I would consider my skill set to be quite advanced when it comes to CSS/HTML and my JS/jQuery skills are reasonable.

I do not need help writing and testing CSS style over rides cross browser/device.

But, there does seem to be an issue that I do not understand with regards to http://<my site>/events/community/add

I just can not get any styles post submission to render and this is very puzzling.

I would be happy to set up a new Tribe user and password and then send a login. What is the best way to send the details? Is it to reply to this thread again and select the “Set as private reply” option?

    Thanks again,
    Ben

You got it, Ben. Private Reply is the way to go.

Standard disclaimer (a bit exaggerated): we won’t change any of your site’s settings and you should make sure your site’s files and database are fully backed up before giving us access and if everything blows up then you won’t blame us.
