ParticipantHey
How to set /events/ featured image? Because currently FB fetch image from event. In other words if event ended and we want to share http://tabletennis.lt/events/
image (thumb) is not the website’s logo, but some page from some event. So how to set featured image or etc?
Thanks.

KeymasterHello Darius,
Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums!
I apologize, I don’t quite understand what you would like to achieve.
When you import events from Facebook with Event Aggregator, then it also imports the image and should set it up as the featured image of that event.
Can you send me a link or screenshot of the event / image that you want to import? And also tell me what happens after import?
Thanks!
Also if you would like or if it is easier for you, you can write in German, French, Spanish, Italian or Hungarian. We have people on the team who speak these languages and it might make communication easier.
Cheers,

ParticipantI’m having similar issues. Seems the Event Calendar Pro plug-in pulls every image on the page .. including what’s in the header and footer .. and sets them OG image options .. which usually results in some unrelated icon or image being used as the set featured image in Facebook links. I can typically use the plug-in All-in-One SEO Pack to hard set the OG image for other posts and pages .. but your plug-in seems to ignore those settings.
This really should be corrected.

KeymasterTom, thanks for chiming in and reporting that. We’ll check that out.
Can you share a url which produces this issue, so we can test it?
Thanks,

ParticipantCreate any event .. but for the sake of argument, pull one of mine ..
Then go to .. https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object/ to scrape the url .. (put in the above) .. what should show is the designated OG image (same as featured image in this case) .. but what shows up is the logo from the header .. also note that every image on that page is designated by your plug-in as an OG image .. and that should not be the case ..
see attached image

ParticipantI should also note that this was a problem for a long time .. then seemed to be corrected for a few months .. and resurfaced within the last two or three updates ..

KeymasterTom, thanks for sharing and clarifying this issue. I apologize, my understanding until now was that there is an issue with pulling images FROM Facebook.
Please give me some time to look into that.
Thanks for your patience!

ParticipantThis is a big issue for me .. we promote individual events on Facebook and need to have the correct image show. So .. as soon as you can ..

KeymasterHi Tom,
I’m afraid I have bad news. At the moment open graph metadata is not created by our plugins. You say that was a function before. Can you let me know in which version was it working?
Also, this should be doable with a bit of customization or a snippet. Although we are limited in providing and supporting customizations I can get you started on this. I would do a snippet in the functions.php file that check if you are on a single event view. If yes, then inject into the <head> the og metadata based on the event properties.
These resources might be helpful:
http://theeventscalendar.com/functions/
Let me know if you need further guidance.
Meanwhile I will also try to check internally about the open graph support.
Cheers,

ParticipantWell .. the All In One SEO Pack plug-in handles that .. but it seems your plug-in overrides (or ignores) it. It works everywhere else ..
Maybe you should also look there ..

KeymasterHello Tom, hello Darius,
I had some discussions with the team and got it confirmed that we don’t add and open graph tags to our events. But this indeed makes a very good feature request.
We collect feature request on UserVoice and if a request gets enough votes then we look into how we could add it to our plugins.
I have created a request for this feature, so if you think this is something you would like to see in the plugin in the future, then head over here and add your votes to it.
I checked the All-in-One SEO plugin, and I couldn’t get it to generate any og meta on single posts either. So no clue what that could be.
Cheers,
