I have EC Pro and Community events add-on. I would like to remove some of the sections on the front-end submission form as they do not apply to the events being listed. My site is on lockdown as I finish tweaking it so I can’t give you a live page but I would like to remove:
Saved venue dropdown,Venue Name,Address,City,Postal Code, Phone & Show Google Maps link under Location Details.
    &
    Phone under organizer details.
Whenever I try to remove any of them I break the site so I guess I’m missing something. I know HTML & CSS but minimal PHP. HELP 🙂

Hi Christina – you would need to override and change three templates to do this. So, before you get started, please take the time to read our Themer’s Guide.

Essentially though you would create a folder called events and within that another folder called community – both of these would be nested under your theme folder.

Please then try out this revised events-meta-box.php template, this revised venue-meta-box.php template and also this revised organizer-meta-box.php template.

    Does that help here?

    Barry,
    You are Friggin’ Awesome!
I tried so many times to edit those files myself with no luck. Now the form is perfect and I can launch the site on schedule this weekend.
    THANK YOU!

Haha, excellent! I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it seems we’re all good on this front, of course feel free to create new threads as needed going forward – and good luck with the launch 🙂
