ParticipantHi there! When exporting a single event to ical, we would like to preserve the html in the description solely to maintain hyperlinks in the description. I’ve been searching the forums and thought this might be relevant, https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/using-html-code-in-explaining-text-for-additional-fields/ but excerpts don’t seem to apply to exported calendar events. Now I’m sort of thing the ical format may not even support rich text. Note in the screenshot the lines below are initially hyperlinks on the site are now plain text in ical on the right. Is there anything we can do besides just including the plain link as part of the description?

ParticipantHey there Thomas,
That makes total sense! Great question! 🙂
I’m going to do some digging into this one, test it out, and consult the development team to see what kind of solution we could implement, so that your html is preserved when you export to iCal.
I’ll update you when I have some more information on this!
Take care,
Shelby 🙂

MemberHi, Thomas.
The iCalendar spec does not allow full HTML, as it is a plain text field. However, it does support CRLF to specify either \n or \r for line breaks.

If you’d like to customize the export, whether a lot or a little, it’d be outside the scope of our support to provide such a customization for you. However, if you have a code snippet of your own you’d like to run by us, we might be able to assist a bit.
Please let us know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.
