GuestHello,
for the “recurring events” feature I was about to buy the PRO version for 2 websites. As I get the events delivered by an external supplier by MS Excel sheet, I wanted to try some test imports first. Here are the problems I encountered:I sampled the example csv files and modified my list output accordingly.
On importing venues, the address and country field did not import. For address, I tried to direct the data to the second address field, to no avail.
Example lines from my CSV file:VENUE NAME,VENUE ADDRESS,VENUE ZIP,VENUE CITY,VENUE PHONE,VENUE WEBSITE,VENUE COUNTRY,VENUE STATE Süd,Karl-Mücher-Weg 1,10272,Teststadt,,/sued,Deutschland,Bayern(As you can also see, I tried to trick the engine into redirecting to the venue’s website [which is actually a page in my WP installation] by a relative link, but that did not work. I assume that I would need to dig into the code myself for that?
On importing events, only some events are imported, and even then start date, both start and end times, venue, and organizer (although they exist in the db) are ignored completely.
It has also proved to be something between tedious and difficult to regex-edit my CSVs which originates with non-US localization standards to conform to your pre-set localization (date, time and decimals). (Any chance of using the WP installation’s preset?)
Of the following example dataTITLE,DESCRIPTION,START DATE,PRICE DESC,PRICE,START TIME,END TIME,ORGANIZER,VENUE Gymnastik für Senioren,immer Dienstags,Jan 5, 2016,je Einheit/pro Pers.,2.5,2:00 PM,3:00 PM,Frau Schröder,Ost Computerkurs,immer Donnerstags,Jan 7, 2016,je Einheit/pro Pers.,5,2:00 PM,3:00 PM,Herr Frey,West Gymnastik mit russ. Seele,immer Freitags,Jan 8, 2016,,,12:00 PM,1:00 PM,Frau Belkina,Westthe plugin does not import the first event at all, the second one without any data except description, and the third one with only description and a date eleven years and three days off (and no time).
Also, as said above, 90% of my events are recurring (and another 90% of them weekly on the same day) and are provided by some other source by means of a table. Is there ANY way I can specify the recurring properties already when importing, instead of going through a hundred events by hand after importing?

MemberHi Frank,
Thanks for contacting us!

I’m afraid that, at this time, there is no particular support for recurring events in terms of CSV import.
I was also sorry to hear that you hit up against a range of other issues when working with the CSV importer, however – although I realize you are asking this because you’re considering purchasing Events Calendar PRO – I’m afraid we don’t provide technical support here in the pre-sales forum.
Instead, if you require further assistance for any of the specific problems you noted please:
- Post in our wordpress.org forum – which is open to all users
- If you have purchased a license key you can log in and post in our premium forums instead
Thanks!
